From lines to planes,
Light enveloping the performance

In JUSTIN's PSYCHO M/V, light creates depth in front of and behind the performer. Sharp lines, overlapping planes and the contrast of blue and red transform the same space into scenes with different tensions.

   Planes and straight lines of light divide the space.

   We film the light alongside the performer's gestures.

Within a space made of light,
place a performer

Crossing blue light surrounds the performer; in the red scenes, fine blue lines cut across the image. Each change in light form and color reveals the body and silhouette differently.

Planes around the performer

Intersecting planes of light create another space around the performer.

Directional lines and color contrasts emphasize hand and body gestures.

Light begins
with a single pattern

We composed circles, polygons and straight-line patterns, then projected them onto a small model to test their volume and appearance on camera. Simple combinations of lines become structures of light around the performer in the final shot.
