공간, 시간, 빛의 본질을 융합한 이 작품에서 빛은 공간의 형태를 드러내고 시간의 흐름을 인식하게 하는 유일한 매개체로 작용한다. 낮과 밤의 무한한 순환 속에서 공간이 기억하는 시간의 흔적을 시청각으로 구현하여, 물리적 경계를 넘어 흐르는 시간 속에서 잊혀져 가는 것들에 대해 ‘변하지 않는(Invariable)’ 가치란 무엇인지 철학적 질문을 던진다.

2025년의 단독 공연은 그 질문을 한 무대에서 처음부터 끝까지 밀고 간다. 쇼케이스의 한 장면이 아니라, 빛과 신체로 짜인 하나의 완결된 시간으로 다시 구성됐다. 그 시간 위에서 무용수의 신체가 빛의 구조를 가로지르며 시간의 흔적을 몸으로 그린다.

빛은 보통 무언가를 비추는 도구로 쓰인다. 〈Invariable〉에서 빛은 비추는 것이 아니라, 공간과 시간을 존재하게 하는 매개다. 2023년에 던진 질문은, 2025년의 단독 무대 위에서 한 번 더 길게 흐른다.

〈Invariable〉 (2025, Power Plant Seoul) — Convergence Art with Ballet

Selected for the 2025 Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's convergence-art program, 〈Invariable〉 returns as a solo performance at Power Plant Seoul — an expansion of the work first shown at Unfold X in 2023. Fusing the essence of space, time, and light, it posits light as the sole medium that reveals the form of space and lets us perceive the flow of time. Within the endless cycle of day and night, the dancer's body traces the time a space remembers, asking what remains invariable among the things we let fade — now carried across the full length of a single stage.
